Residential Care and Independent Living Support for adults with learning difficulties Dignity Group

Our Fees

charlesave.jpg (52272 bytes) Once a placement has been provisionally agreed for a person to take up residence with Dignity, official agreement regarding funding will be sought, unless the person is able to pay for our service themselves. We are very happy to contract our services individually with people if they have private means and wish to pay for the service independently. The fees we charge will be the same as quoted below in all instances, regardless of the source of funding.

Anyone who needs a residential care service because of their learning difficulty is entitled to have this paid for by a number of sources. This can be via the Local Authority Social Services Department, Health Authority or Trust and the Benefits Agency, or mix of all of these.

The formula for working out the amounts involved and access to funds can be daunting. If you would like to talk about this before acting, please contact our Administration Team, who will be pleased to help you.

In addition to the above, the sponsor will be responsible for meeting the person’s personal allowance which is set by the DSS and additional arrangements.

For the Financial Year April 2009-2010 the following fees are chargeable:

The Old Rectory £696.90 p/w (minimum)
Garden Flat £696.90 p/w (minimum)
Rafters £696.90 p/w (minimum)
Independent Living Project Negotiable
The Lighthouse, Selsey £723.16 p/w (minimum)
Segal House, Singleton £984.75 p/w (minimum)

Helpful Pointers

First port of call - Get in touch with us to see if we feel that we can provide an appropriate service and to arrange to look at some of our services in action.

If you need sponsorship, contact a Social Worker or Care Manager through the Local Authority Social Services Department. There are now often teams of professionals set up specifically to help meet the needs of people with leaning difficulties. These are often called CTPLDs (Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities) or previously CHMT (Community Mental Handicap Team) and talk to them about needs and eligibility for funding. An assessment would normally be carried out by a Social Worker.

If you establish that you are entitled to sponsorship, you could talk to them at this point about which services are available. You might like to mention that you have been in touch with us so that Dignity can be considered by everyone involved alongside other services of a similar nature.

If you get stuck, please get in touch and we'll help you negotiate your way through.

All fees quoted for Care Homes include 24 hour residential care with a single bedroom, an above average level of staff support, some support services, an annual holiday allowance, day services organisation and co-ordination (in-house and external), administrative support, liaison with sponsoring agency and next of kin (where appropriate), appointeeship (if required) and transport in line with agreed Service User's Plan Review Goals (set at Service User's Plan Review Meetings). This list is not exhaustive but is designed to provide a flavour of the value for money our services provide. Where a person has higher level needs but we agree by negotiation to provide a service, the quoted fees remain a minimum and will not include the cost of extra staffing or support arrangements.
